Akira's chamber

Akira is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Katsuhiro Otomo. Set in a post-apocalyptic Neo-Tokyo, the work uses conventions of the cyberpunk genre to detail a saga of turmoil. Otomo's art is considered outstanding, and a breakthrough for both Otomo and the manga form. An animated film adaptation (anime) was released in 1988
Known as "Numer 28", Akira has immense, almost godlike psychic powers, although from outward appearances he looks like a small, normal child. He is responsible for the destruction of Tokyo and the beginning of World War III. After the war, he was placed in a cryogenic chamber.
